Client Expectations

HI-Whistler was experiencing frequent overheating problems in guest rooms in both summer and winter and energy costs were astronomical compared to other properties.

Project Outcome

HiH Energy enabled HI-Whistler to achieve close to a 90% reduction in natural gas use.

HiH Energy conducted an energy study on the building that identified significant issues with the interaction between the natural gas based space heating and domestic hot water system and the district energy system serving the hostel’s heat pumps. Budgets were developed and a business case was brought forward to management.

HiH provided mechanical design, project management and energy monitoring that resulted in a substantial decrease in natural gas use while also making a huge difference in guest comfort.
